Tech Promo

The Morgridge College of Education provides state of the art technologies for faculty, staff, and students. In order to keep these technologies running at the optimal level the college employes a full time technical support team. This team supports faculty and students by providing classroom technology support, maintaining the college’s computer labs, supporting the colleges web presence, providing event AV support, managing the colleges software and licensing, and much more.

Members of the technical support team are always available during hours of operation and can be found in room 210 or reached at 303-871-3222. You can also e-mail MCE.Support@du.edu.

Primary responsibilities: researching and managing all installed instructional technologies for the Morgridge College of Education; providing audio-visual-technical support to professors, staff, students, and outside personnel; training faculty on the use of instructional classroom technologies; and assisting faculty and students in the use of all equipment. Responsible for ongoing evaluation of digital instructional equipment needs and functional specifications.

Primary Responsibilities: Oversee Morgridge College of Education's website, acting as the point of contact and coordinating final website language with appropriate individuals, ensuring that website language is vetted before posting.  Provide strategic recommendations to keep the website viable and user friendly while also maintaining MCE marketing strategies.  Subject matter expert in website building and maintenance.  Responsible for researching and managing all installed instructional technologies for the College of Education, working closely with faculty, staff, Library Technology Services, Center for Teaching and Learning and University Technology Services on a wide array of state-of-the-art learning technologies and digital content for learning.  Trains faculty on the use of instructional classroom technologies and assists faculty and students in the use of all equipment.  Responsible for ongoing evaluation of digital instructional equipment needs and functional specifications. Assists the in coordination of  audio visual details for events. Provides desktop technology support for MCE faculty and staff. Tracks audiovisual equipment and laptop computers. Manages equipment inventory. Coordinates software licenses and upgrades as needed. Maintains  the student computer lab and computer classrooms. Works with University Technology Services on various tasks that require coordination of technology resources.

Primary responsibilities: oversees facilities and technology operations for Katherine A. Ruffatto Hall including event scheduling within the building; is the Human Resources administrator overseeing HR functions for MCE; and coordinates the review and approval of all MOUs and contracts for MCE.

Does the college check out equipment to faculty, staff and students?

The college has an array of equipment that faculty staff and students can check out. They may check out any item for up to 3 days. Late returns or stolen items may result in your degree being with held or fines.

Does the technical support team support personal computers?

Due to liability issues the technical support team does not support personal computers. For assistance with your personal computer please contact University Technical services at 303-871-4700

Do I schedule events through the technical support team?

Does the technical support team provide software for students?

The technical support team does not provide software of any kind for students.
