Professional Biography

Bruce Uhrmacher is the author of several books as well as numerous articles related to qualitative research, curriculum, teaching, alternative types of education, and the role of arts/aesthetics in research and in school reform. Uhrmacher has been President of the American Association for Teaching and Curriculum (AATC); factotum for Professors of Curriculum; and past chair of the Elliot Eisner Special Interest Group at the American Educational Research Association. Uhrmacher was also the Book Review Editor of the International Journal of Leadership in Education (IJLE) and the Co-Editor of the Curriculum Teaching Dialogue. Uhrmacher's current research interests are in CRISPA (see CRISPAteaching.org), Criticism and Connoisseurship, and eco-criticism.
