Release Party! As/Us: Issue 6 – Dedicated to Women of Color & Gender Non-Conforming People of Color in Higher Education
Please join us in celebrating the release of a special issue of Indigenous women’s literary journal, As/Us dedicated to centering voices of women of color and gender non-conforming people of color in higher education. Edited by Assistant Professor, Ramona Beltran, this special issue is a response to recent (and ongoing) events around the country illuminating the persistent effects of racism in academia. It includes diverse voices echoing the very real experiences of racism and intersectional violence and also offers creative, hopeful and nuanced solutions to the most pressing issues of inequality in our institutions of higher learning.
The event will feature performances from contributors, artwork, creative expression, advanced copies for sale, and food by Tocabe – An American Indian Eatery.
The event is open to the public, please share the attached flyer and event information with your networks!
(Friday) 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
