The Lunch and Learn will focus on how national organizations operate, shape, to the higher education context and community.

The session will provide:

  1. an overview of the many associations, think tanks, policy and advocacy organizations, and foundations in higher education;
  2. a brief list of professional development opportunities for students, faculty, and staff and;
  3. resources and information to learn more about engaging at the national level

Invited presenter

Laura E Sponsler, PhD

Dr. Laura E. Sponsler joins MCE from the national association for students affairs, NASPA -Student Affairs Professionals in Higher Education where she served as the founding director of a civic learning and democratic engagement initiative. She has extensive experience working with national organizations in higher education research, policy, and practice. Her professional practice and research focuses on civic engagement, the civic development of college students, and organizational change in higher education.
