Event Details

Dean Karen Riley, along with the Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) program, invite you to attend the unveiling of the co-created mural “Ecology, Sustainability, Creativity, and Well-Being.”

The mural was designed by award-winning Colorado artist Tony Ortega who has been teaching and painting for the past 36 years. In addition to his practice as a painter, pastelist, and printmaker, Ortega works with local communities to create landscape murals for public spaces.

The mural he created for Morgridge College is an example of his passion for such public art.

Ortega will be on hand to sign the co-created mural, and to discuss the creative process he uses when designing art across various mediums.

The event will also recognize this year’s recipient of the Uhrmacher Scholarship, C&I PhD student, Jennifer Bartee. The scholarship was created to honor Dr. P. Bruce Uhrmacher and further the nurturing of creative ideas in the field of Curriculum and Instruction.

Please RSVP at the link below. You will also be given the opportunity to make an optional donation to the Uhrmacher Scholarship in your reservation.
