ACE Announces Panels for Release Convening on Race-Conscious and Race-Neutral Admissions Approaches
Release Convening Brings Experts Together To Share Best Practices

The American Council on Education announces a convening featuring the release of “Race, Class, and College Access: Achieving Diversity in a Shifting Legal Landscape.” The convening will use findings from the report as a catalyst for an in-depth discussion of current and prospective strategies to ensure racial, ethnic and socioeconomic diversity on America’s four-year college campuses.

This in-person and live-stream event is co-sponsored by Pearson’s Center for College & Career Success and the Civil Rights Project at UCLA – collaborators on this important work.

Following a presentation of findings by the authors, there will be a series of panel discussions led by distinguished diversity scholars, legal experts, admissions and student affairs practitioners, institutional leaders, and others. In addition to the panels, lunch will be provided so attendees will have a chance to network.

At 2:45pm MST our very own Dr. Frank Tuitt, Associate Professor of the Higher Education Program and Senior Advisor to the Chancellor and Provost on Inclusive Excellence, will be presenting “Beyond Admissions: The Connection between Admissions and Student Success” with other professionals at the conference.

Other panels include:
  • A Dream Undone Project Study Findings
  • The Current Policy and Legal Landscape
  • Developing Strong Leadership on Diversity Policies and Practices
