Join us at the Turnaround Leadership Colloquium, hosted by the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
The Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Department at the Morgridge College of Education and the Daniels College of Business are deeply committed to— and engaged in— supporting leaders who are turning around low-performing schools in Colorado. Join us for an inspiring and productive evening interacting with current leaders engaged in district and school turnaround efforts and exploring the DU signature turnaround design approach.
The evening will include a panel discussion with district and school turnaround leaders in Denver Public Schools moderated by Peter Sherman, Executive Director of the District & School Performance Unit at the Colorado Department of Education. The panelists include: Ivan Duran, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education; LaDawn Baity, Instructional Superintendent; Nick Dawkins, Principal at Manual High School; Lisa Mahannah, Principal at Oakland Elementary; Julie Murgel, Principal at DCIS Montbello; and Jesús Rodríguez, Principal at Trevista at Horace Mann.
After the panel discussion we will engage the audience in a sampling of our signature design approach led by faculty and graduates of the Morgridge College of Education and Daniels College of Business. All attendees will walk away with strategies and ideas to apply in their districts/schools.
