Dr. Joswick received a doctorate from The Ohio State University. Dr. Joswick’s research focuses on cognition--teaching and learning with learning trajectories and learning progressions--and discourse, including the relationship between classroom discourse and mathematical concept development. Dr. Joswick has taught mathematics in both middle school and high school, as well as undergraduate and graduate mathematics education courses. Dr. Joswick has presented at numerous local, state, national, and international conferences on classroom interactions, learning progressions, teacher preparation and teacher knowledge, mathematics coaching, and non-native English speaking students’ mathematics classroom participation, along with facilitating state-level professional development for elementary mathematics teachers and coaches.
