Field Trips

Ricks’ students participate in relevant, exciting field experiences that enhance their understanding of a subject and provide valuable hands-on learning. Students may find themselves in a university science lab, a bookbinding factory, a national park, a recycling center, a foreign country, a bank, or a homeless shelter as they learn firsthand about the world around them.

With each new curriculum unit comes the opportunity for field trips or excursions that allow students to apply what they are learning in the classroom to the real world. Connecting the classroom to outside life experiences is an integral part of the curriculum and a powerful method for students to gain knowledge, authenticate learning, build confidence, and develop critical thinking skills.
