Greetings From our Associate Director
We are excited to be part of your journey!
Hello and welcome to the Fisher Early Learning Center at the University of Denver. As the Associate Director of Fisher, I am fortunate to be able to collaborate with all parties involved in our program, including administrative teams, teaching staff, and last, but not least, the children and their families. This collaborative relationship is evident throughout our Center. Mutual respect, where we welcome all children and families regardless of their abilities and backgrounds, fosters a positive learning environment for young children.
In the classrooms, from infant through pre-kindergarten, children actively engage in meaningful and purposeful activities, alongside their peers and teachers. As an early childhood program, we understand the important role of play and positive social interaction in children's development. Our play-based curriculum, with a unique combination of child-directed engagement and teacher instruction, allows us to provide a well-rounded education, building a strong foundation for both academic and life skills.
We recognize families as partners. It is important to us that all families feel recognized and accepted, and receive opportunities to be a part of their children's classroom activities and school events throughout the year.
Our partnership extends to our community. Strong support from and a relationship with the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver contributes to the teachers' professional development and continuing high-quality education and care at Fisher.
Early childhood is considered the critical period in one's development for a number of reasons. We are honored to be a part of many children's life journeys each year and hope to be a part of your journey, as well.
