Greetings from our Associate Director
Welcome to the Fisher Early Learning Center at the University of Denver. As Associate Director, I feel privileged to partner with our dedicated staff and families to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child and family feels welcomed and valued. Our connection to the broader University of Denver community enriches the Fisher experience in meaningful ways.
In addition to offering a beautiful campus for our students to explore, the DU community provides Fisher with access to resources, research opportunities, and professional support that empower our educators to design engaging, high-quality learning environments. These connections help ensure that Fisher continues to operate at the highest level of quality in early childhood care and education.
At Fisher, children are at the heart of everything we do. We recognize the importance of building strong, trusting relationships and intentionally nurturing each child’s curiosity, creativity, and growing interest in the world around them. In our classrooms, from infant through pre-kindergarten, children engage in meaningful and hands-on experiences alongside their peers and teachers. Our program is grounded in evidence-based practices designed to support each child’s unique growth and development within a play-based and developmentally appropriate curriculum.
With more than 20 years of experience in education, I am deeply committed to sharing knowledge, modeling best practices, and helping new educators grow in their careers. As a part of my role as Associate Director, I oversee the hiring and training of numerous graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Denver to assist teachers in our classrooms. It is especially rewarding to see students from a wide variety of majors build meaningful relationships with children and deepen their understanding of early childhood development. We value the important contribution these student employees make to our community and are proud to help inspire the next generation of early childhood educators.
Early childhood is an incredibly special and formative period in a child’s development. We share your commitment to providing a nurturing, high-quality early childhood experience that supports the social-emotional and cognitive skills that form a strong foundation for lifelong learning. We would be delighted to welcome you into our Fisher community and would be honored to walk with you through this cherished time of your child’s life.
