Fisher's Administrative Team
The Administrative Team at Fisher Early Learning Center includes our Director, Associate Director, and support staff who work together to support the daily operations that keep our school running smoothly and our community feeling cared for. From welcoming families and guests to guiding enrollment, tours, financial aid, and tuition payments, this team is here to help with whatever our community needs. They also coordinate staffing and schedules, curriculum support, manage licensing requirements, and order supplies to keep classrooms well-equipped. Working both behind the scenes and on the front lines, the administrative team is the backbone that keeps Fisher operating efficiently, effectively, and with a warm, welcoming spirit.

Meaghan Burns, Curriculum & Instruction Specialist
I am a Denver native and have worked in the Early Childhood Education field for over 20 years. I have a Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Gifted Education and a Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Special Education, and am currently working on an EdD in Curriculum and Instruction with specialties in Early Childhood and Curriculum Studies. I am also Infant Mental Health Endorsed by Colorado Association for Infant Mental Health. I worked at Fisher from 2001-2006 starting in the Roly Polys and ending as Master (Lead) Teacher in the Moon Bear Room. I returned to Fisher after some time away from the field (but still at DU) in the Bearsie Bear room, and then was Lead in the Roly Polys since from 2015-2023. I became Curriculum and Instruction Specialist at Fisher in 2023, supporting teachers in implementing curriculum and classroom instruction.
I have 4 adult children of my own. All of them are graduates of Fisher, and two are now are teachers at Fisher! I also love to read and am always looking for suggestions! I enjoy spending time in the mountains and am excited to see how my free time will be filled now that I am an empty nester.
I have absolutely loved immersing myself in child development at the classroom level and have enjoyed sharing my passion with teachers across all age groups 0-5 to implement evidence based best practices that include all learners and their families. Widening my lens to the building at large has increased my enjoyment of working in this field as I get to see all the children play, learn and grow as they journey through Fisher and into the world beyond! I am especially grateful that this new phase has been at Fisher/DU where I have made my professional home for the last 20+ years.
