It is never too early or too late to sign up to volunteer for Night Owls!
We sign up volunteers on an ongoing basis. You can volunteer to be a special friend for either children with special needs or children who are siblings of children with special needs. You can also participate in planning and organizing the program, help run activities, or be a floater who helps with a variety of tasks throughout a Night Owls evening.
No experience is needed to be a volunteer. Volunteers must participate in one of the volunteer training sessions, which are currently scheduled as needed. Volunteers will receive an information packet on the program approach, activities, safety, and best practices for interacting with both children with special needs and typically developing children.
Interested in volunteering?
Once we receive the completed registration forms, we will contact you to take care of background checks and volunteer schedules.
Please complete all registration forms and return them to: NightOwls@du.edu
Please note within the Volunteer Registration form, you can agree to participate in the evaluation of this program. We hope and encourage all volunteers (and families) to participate as this will serve as the beginning of research that will be used to establish Night Owls as a permanent program as well as inform standards for respite care for families with children with special needs.
