Bearsie Bears Classroom

The Infant Classrooms at the University of Denver’s Fisher Early Learning Center serves infants 6 weeks to 18 months in a warm, relationship-centered environment designed to support their earliest growth and development. Our Infant/Toddler program prioritizes deep, trusting relationships between children, teachers, and families, with low ratios and fewer classroom transitions that allow educators to provide responsive, individualized care and create a strong foundation for social-emotional development.

Guided by the Program for Infant Toddler Care (PITC), teachers implement primary caregiving, small group experiences, continuity of care, individualized learning, culturally responsive practices, and inclusive support. Through nurturing routines, sensory-rich experiences, and meaningful partnerships with families, we ensure every infant feels safe, valued, and supported each day.

RennyCalderon

Renny Calderon, Associate Teacher

Renny brings warmth, creativity, and a genuine love for children to the classroom. She studied Business Administration and Marketing and worked in that field for several years before discovering her passion for early childhood education. For the past 15 years, she has dedicated herself to working with young children, finding great joy in supporting their growth, curiosity, and confidence during such an important stage of development. She also has knowledge and experience with children with autism. She joined the Fisher family in 2023 with the Cowboy Bunnies but then she moved to the Bearsie Bears where she’s been ever since. Renny believes that a nurturing environment filled with play, exploration, and kindness helps children feel safe, loved, and excited to learn each day. Renny’s daughter completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Denver and is currently finishing up her Master’s program there as well. Outside the classroom, she enjoys doing crafts and going on hikes, and she loves sharing creativity and exploration with the children she works with. She likes to travel to learn about different cultures to enrich her knowledge. A fun fact about her is that she is from Sevilla, Spain and enjoys sharing pieces of her culture and experiences with the children and families she works with.
