Professional Biography
Dr. Brianna Mestas is an alumna of the University of Denver, where she earned her MA and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Urban Education. She brings expertise in teacher preparation, residency-based learning, program evaluation, and equity-centered educational improvement. Dr. Mestas teaches Program Evaluation for ELPS, supporting doctoral students in developing practical tools for assessing programs, using evidence, and leading improvement efforts in educational organizations. Her teaching helps students connect evaluation frameworks to real leadership problems, including questions of implementation, impact, equity, and sustainable change. Her work is grounded in a commitment to preparing educators and leaders who build strong partnerships, use inquiry to improve practice, and advance more equitable educational systems.
