The Teacher Education Program (TEP) certificate offers a unique, alternative licensure-only pathway for individuals who already hold a bachelor’s degree and are working or newly hired in a full-time K-12 teaching role at a Colorado public school.
This innovative, non-degree program allows you to earn your initial teaching license while receiving a salary. With 40 flexible credits, you can begin in the summer, fall, or winter quarter. Depending on your schedule and goals, you can complete your coursework in either one or two years.
The Teacher Education Program is built on a foundation of culturally sustaining and justice-oriented pedagogy, preparing you to teach diverse learners through meaningful, community-connected coursework. Whether you're just starting out or transitioning into education, this certificate is designed to support your journey and amplify your impact.

Curriculum: 40 Credit Hours
Program Length: Students registered in the minimum number of credits for full-time enrollment should complete the program within 2 years.
40 Credit hours can be applied toward a master’s degree within 5 years of program completion
