College of Education Student Association (COESA)

COESA (College of Education Student Association) represents students in all policy-making activities affecting student interests. They provide students studying at Morgridge an opportunity to engage in collegial and social relationships with faculty, peers, and experts in the field through encouraging and promoting professional, intellectual, and social interaction between students, faculty, and staff.

The Queer & Straight Student Alliance (QSSA)

The Queer & Straight Student Alliance (QSSA) is a student organization within the Morgridge College of Education who has the goal of providing a place of support, exploration, and education for and about the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, and Queer (LGBTIQ) communities within the college, and provide a space for allies of the LGBTIQ communities to support their colleagues.

The Higher Education Student Association (HESA) provides an educational, professional, and social base for students interested in the field of higher education. Activities of the organization encourage and enhance all facets of graduate student growth and development and provide an opportunity to engage in collegial and social relationships with faculty, peers, and experts in the field.

CFSPSA (Child, Family, and School Psychology Student Association) provides a voice to CFSP students at Morgridge. CFSPSA encourages collaboration between graduate programs and provides professional development opportunities for students. It maintains open lines of communication between faculty and students as well as enhancing student advocacy.

LISSAA (Library and Information Science Student and Alumni Association) serves and represents students enrolled in the University of Denver’s Library and Information Science program by providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.  LISSAA provides a bridge between enrolled students and alumni to give greater opportunities in the library and information science profession and to act as a coordinating point for official student chapters of national library organizations.


ALA (American Library Association—Student Chapter) facilitates a relationship with the American Library Association by familiarizing members with resources available to them, encouraging professional relationships amongst the field of librarianship, participating in professional activities outside of the classroom, and raising awareness of national issues in librarianship.


ASIS&T (American Society for Information Science & Technology Student Chapter) is the student chapter of the national Association of Information Science & Technology organization. They are dedicated to exploring information science and technology.

The University of Denver ASIS&T Chapter was named the 2013 Student Chapter of the Year.

SAA (Society of American Archivists—Student Chapter) serves as a means of introducing new archivists into the profession, as well as enhancing education by providing an additional focus for students to discuss archival issues, identify with the profession, and engage in professional activities. The chapter also promotes communication among student members and professionals in the field.


SLA (Special Library Association—Student Chapter) strives to connect students with professionals in the special libraries field by holding talks and tours.
