What I do

Dr. Tabron critically examines how P-12 educational laws, policies, and leadership practices shape students' preparedness for college and their opportunities to access higher education and postsecondary careers. Particularly, her work amplifies the voices and experiences of historically marginalized groups in public schooling, including African American students, Latino students, students from low-income backgrounds, students with disabilities, and girls pursuing STEM careers. Racial justice is at the heart of her research, driving her dedication to building bridges in education by linking her findings to inform impactful public policy and leadership practices across all levels of schooling, from preschool to college.

Professional Biography

Dr. Lolita A. Tabron is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) in the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver and a faculty affiliate at the Interdisciplinary Research Institute for the Study of (In)Equality (IRISE) and the Scrivner Institute of Public Policy.

Dr. Tabron critically examines how P-12 educational laws, policies, and leadership practices shape students' preparedness for college and their opportunities to access higher education and postsecondary careers. Particularly, her work amplifies the voices and experiences of historically marginalized groups in public schooling, including African American students, Latino students, students from low-income backgrounds, students with disabilities, and girls pursuing STEM careers. Racial justice is at the heart of her research, driving her dedication to building bridges in education by linking her findings to inform impactful public policy and leadership practices across all levels of schooling, from preschool to college.

In recognition of her excellent research contributions, Dr. Tabron was honored with the Jack C. Culbertson Early Career Award from the University Council of Education Administration in 2019. Additionally, she received the prestigious 2024 Review of Research Award from the American Educational Research Association, the largest professional educational organization globally.
