Professional Biography
Over the years, she has collaborated with educators, families, and communities to enhance assessment practices, foster strong professional partnerships, and prepare the next generation of early childhood and special education professionals. Her work has resulted in publications, book chapters, and presentations on local, national, and international stages.
Her funded projects focus on developing positive social-emotional skills in young children and training well-prepared, interdisciplinary early childhood and early childhood special education professionals. She also enjoys contributing to the field through service and scholarship, including roles on the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) Board, the DEC Recommended Practices Committee, and as Associate Editor of Topics in Early Childhood Special Education, Young Exceptional Children, and the Editor of Journal of International Special Needs Education.
As a proud Ford Foundation Fellow, she is deeply committed to advancing inclusive education through research, advocacy, and mentorship.
