Library and Information Science Certificate in Research Data Management
The certificate in Research Data Management is a one-year program that responds to the emerging need for well-trained information professionals in the management, preservation and sharing of data generated in different stages of the research process. It prepares practicing information professionals to support the research data lifecycle in the areas such as scholarly communication, digital preservation, data visualization, open access and research data management, through coursework in Research Methods and Information Science.

If you are seeking a Master’s of Library and Information Science (MLIS), we also offer a concentration in Research Data Management. Certificate students also have the option to transition into the MLIS.
Certificate programs provide substantial education in a specific academic discipline or on a coherent and freestanding body of knowledge. The certificate issued at the completion of the program represents the achievement of competence in a well-defined area of study. Academic certificates require a minimum of 24 quarter hours or 16 semester hours of credit.
