Robot Rock Stars
Working with a partner or a group, first graders built robot models designed to help people. They used their imagination to define the robot’s purpose and exercised their tactile skills to construct models with functioning parts like arms, wheels, lights, voice box, and more. Next, these young engineers pitched their robots as inventors attempting to sell their idea to an investor (their teacher) and consumers (their classmates) in true Shark Tank style. This amazing challenge encapsulated Ricks value of “learning on the edge” as these young students explored ideas and implementation to take vision to reality. What will they build next?
