Your Future: Careers At-A-Glance

With a Certificate

A graduate certificate can help you to develop specialized knowledge, advance your career, meet peers, and more. Whether you complete a 100% online or in-person program, certificates can usually be completed in 1 year.

With a Master’s Degree

A master’s degree can help you enter a new field, strengthen your existing career, and more. People with master’s degrees tend to earn more, regardless of the sector they work in. As an example, starting salaries for teachers with master’s degrees are about 25% higher. For those in education administration or supervision, salaries can be 50% higher.

With a Doctoral Degree

A PhD or EdD can help you advance your career, contribute to research, become a professor, and much more. Your field of study and degree type influence the paths that you can take. To explore national outcome data for doctoral students, visit the Survey of Earned Doctorates from the NSF.
